Create Widgets from Claude & ChatGPT — Answe AI Connector

Introduction

Answe has an official connector for AI assistants. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to build a booking form, contact widget, or reservation flow for your business, and it creates a real, live Answe widget for you — in the conversation, in seconds, no Answe account needed to start. You get three things back immediately:

  • A share link — your widget is live at that URL right away
  • An embed code — paste it into your website to show the widget there
  • A claim link — open it to save the widget into your own free Answe account, so incoming answers land in your chat inbox

The connector works with any AI app that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The server URL is:

https://www.answe.com/mcp

Set Up in Claude

Works on every Claude plan, including Free (Free accounts can add one custom connector).

  1. Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors (also available in the Claude desktop app).
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Answe and paste the URL https://www.answe.com/mcp. No authentication is needed.
  4. Start a new chat and make sure the Answe connector is enabled in the tools menu below the message box.

Set Up in ChatGPT

Available on ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Business plans, on the web.

  1. Go to Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to the Plugins page and click the ＋ (Create) button.
  3. Name it Answe, set the server URL to https://www.answe.com/mcp (including the /mcp path), and set Authentication to No authentication. Accept the custom-server notice and click Create.
  4. Open your personal plugins, find Answe, and install it with the ＋ button.
  5. In a chat, enable the Answe plugin from the tools menu, then ask away. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm the first time it creates a widget — that's its standard permission prompt for actions.

What to Ask

Describe your business and what you want to collect — the assistant designs the question, answer buttons, form fields, and confirmation messages for you. Examples:

  • "I run a coworking space — make a form where customers can book meeting rooms."
  • "Create a table reservation widget for my restaurant, Kalle's Bistro."
  • "I need a contact form for my consulting site that asks what service they're interested in."
  • "Make a sign-up widget for my gym's trial classes with a class picker."

Mention your business name and the widget will be signed with it.

Claiming Your Widget

The widget works and collects answers immediately, but it belongs to a temporary guest profile until you claim it:

  1. Open the claim link the assistant gave you (keep it private — whoever opens it can claim the widget).
  2. Sign in to your Answe account, or create a free one on the spot.
  3. The widget — including any answers it already received — moves into your account. Answers appear in your chat inbox, and you can edit the widget, add actions, take payments, or manage reservations like any other Answe question.

Each claim link works once. Unclaimed widgets may be removed after an extended period, so claim yours to keep it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to add the connector? The connector only exposes two capabilities: creating a new widget and checking a widget's status. It cannot read your files, your conversations, or any existing Answe account data, and it requires no login or API key.

Do I need an Answe account? Not to create and share a widget. You need a free account only when you claim it — that's what connects incoming answers to your inbox.

How many widgets can I create? Creation is rate-limited to 10 widgets per hour. If you need more, claim your widgets and continue in the Answe app, where your own account limits apply.

Can I edit a widget the assistant created? Yes — after claiming it, edit it in Answe like any widget you built yourself: change copy, add form fields, attach actions, or connect payments.
